My Story
I am a 22 year old Journalist with a track record of breaking stories. Having recently graduated from St Andrews, this site is an archive of my student journalism, editorials and blogs. Having always loved reading and writing, at St Andrews I learned the art of Journalism and here is another home for some of my best work. Highlights include interviews with leading historians and friends such as Richard Whatmore and Alex Woolf. These show my love of history and my desire to get compelling important ideas about the world from academia to the popular reader.
Richard Whatmore’s study of small states and the Enlightenment in the 18th century on which his book The End off Enlightenment is centred is an incredibly prescient intellectual topic. The ideas of republicanism are the foundation of blocks of all modern ideologies and in an increasingly anti ideological world need returning to.
My interests are broad, multi-lingual and cross cultural. I am a keen hiker so some of my blogs on long distance trekking can be found here.
